Church Office Plaza - Salt Lake City Tours

The plaza next to the LDS Church Office Building on Temple Square is packed with a variety of flower beds, fountains, and photo opportunities. The gardens of Temple Square are populated with several hundred varieties of flowers each year. The gardens between the Church Administration Building and the Joseph Smith Memorial Building are some of the most extensive on Temple Square. The plaza provides multiple photo opportunities of the Salt Lake Temple that are popular for bridal and family photography. A large fountain that turns on at the top and the bottom of the hour is located in front of the south entrance to the Church Office Building.

Christus Statue - Salt Lake City Tours

An 11-foot replica of the Christus statute stands in the North Visitors Center on Temple Square. The original statue was commissioned by the Church of Our Lady in Copenhagen, created by Bertel Thorvaldsen in 1821. An American textbook proclaimed it to be the most perfect statue of Christ in the world. The replica on Temple Square conveys to visitors that Mormons are Christians. The mural of the universe provides an impressive backdrop.
